Getting More Online Sales

Test #1: Offer just one product or service on your home page.

Do you sell a number of products or services on your Newcastle website?

If so, I'd strongly recommend you test whether or not this is the best strategy for you. We've found that offering fewer products in one place with more copy describing those products always translates into higher sales.

It's all about focus.

Instead of trying to please everyone who visits your site by offering a large range of products with minimal detail about each one, if you offer just one product--or one set of related products--you can really focus on one key set of benefits and answer all the possible questions and doubts your visitors might have about your product.

And you don't have to stop selling your other products--you can always offer them to your customers from other web pages or by using follow-up offers.

Of course, the only way to find out for sure if this will work with your target audience is to test it! Write a sales letter for your lead product, and put it on your home page. Then run the test for a week or two to see how it increases your sales.

Making Your Website Easily Found By Search Engines

Making Your Website Search Engine Friendly
Search engine optimization, or SEO, is an integral element of getting found on the web. If you are not actively working on some form of SEO, you may find your site is not getting the traffic it deserves.  Many clients expect that "just a website" will get them traffic and sales and this is not the case in most instances.

Focus on your Niche
Your website already has a niche to work in: the products or services that you are selling. Focus on building up that niche on your website by writing relevant and meaningful articles that discuss information related to the products that you sell. Give your visitors more than just the products, give them information and insight..

Business brands or websites that focus on a niche in particular will usually rate higher in a search because they provide more information via blogs and webpages, which results in a greater number of keywords that are easy to find.

Identify your niche and focus on building your website around that idea. Do not get distracted by the products; instead, make the products a bonus to your website.  Remember, better knowledge leads to making an informed decision and buying confidence.

Start a Blog and Keep it Updated

Create a blog page on your website and write content for the blog regularly. This is not as hard as it sounds.  Updated content informs search engines that your website is active and that your website is a key source of evolving information. It also provides the opportunity to put in new keywords and key phrases that will show up when a browsing customer is looking for information.

Content - which is articles, images and regular updates, are still the primary method of getting noticed on the web. When you write for your blog or you put new content on your website, focus on quality, original content.. A short meaningful blog post with relevant and concise information is more valuable than a long post that is crammed with keywords, but never gets to the point.

Avoid Keyword Stuffing

While we are on keywords, avoid Keyword stuffing - which occurs when you use the same word or phrase too many times in the content. Although you want to use keywords to place high in search engines, you do not want to put it in too many times because that will have the opposite effect.  As a rule, if it reads clunky and awkward, it will be noticed and will not be deemed worthy.

Choose Words That Make Sense

Just because you sell a product, it does not mean your keywords need to focus solely on that item. Do not pick out keywords based on the product you are sell; instead, select words and phrases that make sense and are related to the product.

If you only use the products you sell as keywords and phrases, then you will not rank high in a search engine unless someone is looking for that item. Pick out words that are related, but also make sense in a traditional web search.

Make Your Website User Friendly

Although your goal is making the website easy to find on a search engine, you also need to consider the customer experience. Create a website layout that is easy to navigate and allows visitors to visit different pages without wasting time or getting confused.

The more traffic you get on your website, the better your niche site will rank in the future. Backlinks and traffic are powerful tools, but keep in mind a user-friendly layout that encourages visitors to link your website or visit again in the future.  Think effortless and intuitive.

Make your blog and website Easy to Read
Create sub-heading for all of the blog-posts or articles that you add on your website. Offer your visitors a memorable experience and improve your rankings in search engines by making your website easily searchable. Sub-headings and bullet points make your content easy to read and encourage your visitors to come back.

Diversify - Be Authentic and Original
